William Cronon
William Cronon is the Frederick Jackson Turner Professor of History, Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His books include:
- Uncommon Ground: Rethinking the Human Place in Nature
- Changes in the Land: Indians, Colonists, and the Ecology of New England, winner of the Francis Parkman prize in 1984
- Nature's Metropolis: Chicago and the Great West, winner of the Bancroft Prize in 1992
